More Woods Than You'd Expect in North Pinellas
Drive between US-19 and Alt US-19 and you'll notice Palm Harbor still has real tree cover: slash pines over neighborhood streets, live oaks shading golf course homes and wooded buffers behind subdivisions. That's part of the appeal, but tall pines on small lots are a lightning and wind concern, and older laurel oaks reach the end of their safe life sooner than many owners realize.
When a pine is dying from the top or an oak has a cavity at the base, removal is usually the safe call. Healthy trees often just need trimming to lighten long limbs and lift them off the roof.
From Lake Tarpon to Ozona and Crystal Beach
Lakefront lots on the Lake Tarpon side tend to be larger, sometimes with cypress near the water, oaks up by the house and a strip of brush that has crept toward the lawn. On the other side of town, the older streets of Ozona and Crystal Beach sit right on the Sound, where palms and salt-tolerant trees take the brunt of Gulf storms. Old Palm Harbor, the historic district near Alt US-19, has the tight lots and big shade trees typical of a town that grew up a century ago.
That range means one week we're rigging an oak over a historic cottage, and the next we're clearing undergrowth on a half-acre lakeside parcel.

Brush, Wooded Lots and Small Clearing Jobs
Palm Harbor still has some wooded parcels between developed blocks, and homeowners often want to reclaim the back third of a deep lot. Our brush clean up takes out vines, palmetto and invasive shrubs, and for a vacant parcel or an infill home site, lot clearing removes trees and stumps so a builder can get started. We size the equipment to the property, from the compact track loader for tight spaces to the wheel loader with a log grapple on bigger sites.
Stumps, Storms and Who Regulates Removals Here
Palm Harbor is unincorporated, so tree removal permits come from Pinellas County rather than a city. Check with the county before taking out a large tree; we can explain what is usually needed. Leftover stumps disappear with stump grinding, leaving room for sod or a new planting. When a storm sweeps through north Pinellas, we cut up fallen trees and haul them away. Neighbors in Oldsmar and Dunedin are on our regular routes too.
