Caring for Windermere's Oak Canopy
Many properties in and around the town of Windermere have live oaks that are older than the houses beneath them. These trees are a big part of property value, and the goal is usually to keep them, not cut them down. Good tree trimming on a mature oak means removing dead wood, reducing long limbs that hang over the roof or pool cage, keeping clearance above driveways for delivery and service vehicles, and thinning enough to let wind pass through during a storm. We avoid stripping the interior of the canopy, which leaves a tree weaker rather than stronger.
Laurel oaks and old pines are a different story. When one of them is hollow, cracked or leaning toward the house, a careful tree removal protects the home and the trees you want to keep. On larger estates we can bring the bucket truck and loader right to the work; on tighter lots we rig pieces down by rope.
Lakefront Lots on the Butler Chain
Homes along Lake Butler, Lake Down, Lake Tibet and the rest of the chain have their own challenges. Cypress and oaks lean out toward the water to find light, and limbs end up over boathouses, docks and seawalls. Soil near the shoreline stays moist and soft, so heavy equipment has to be placed carefully to avoid rutting lawns. We plan access before the job starts, use mats or lighter machines where needed, and keep debris out of the lake.
Shoreline vegetation can be regulated, so check with Orange County or the town about any work at the water's edge. We can tell you what is usually needed.

Finishing the Job Cleanly
Windermere homeowners expect a yard that looks better after we leave than when we arrived. That means:
- Chipping or hauling every branch through our debris removal service
- Stump grinding below grade so sod or landscape beds can go back in
- Root removal where old roots are lifting pavers, driveways or pool decks
- Raking and blowing off hardscape before we pack up
Around Windermere and Southwest Orange County
We work in the town itself and in surrounding lakeside communities off Conroy-Windermere Road, Windermere Road and SR-429, and nearby in Ocoee, Orlando and Clermont. Hurricane season is the time when overextended oak limbs fail, so many clients schedule pruning in the spring before it starts.
