Small-Town San Antonio and the Country Around It
San Antonio was settled in the 1880s as a Catholic colony, and it has kept a small-town feel ever since, with a compact center, a city park and older homes on shaded streets. Step a mile outside town, though, and you are into rolling sandy hills, horse farms, pasture and patches of hardwood and pine that stretch toward Dade City and Zephyrhills.
Over the years the area has drawn retirees, commuters heading to jobs in Tampa and families looking for a few acres. Most of the calls we get from San Antonio fall into one of three groups: landowners who want overgrown acreage cleaned up, families who bought land and want a home site cleared, and in-town homeowners with a large oak or pine that needs attention.
Mulching Brush and Thinning Woods on Rural Acreage
Many parcels around San Antonio have been left alone long enough for the understory to close in. Thick saw palmetto, grapevine, smilax and seedling oaks make it hard to walk the property, let alone use it. Our forestry mulching machine works through that growth and leaves the good trees standing, so you keep the shade and the wooded look while getting your land back.
Mulching also suits the hilly terrain here. Because the material stays on the ground as mulch instead of being pushed into piles, the soil is less exposed on slopes after the work is done. For lighter jobs, such as reclaiming a back pasture edge or clearing around outbuildings, our brush clean up service is often enough.

Clearing a Home Site in the Hills
Building on rural land near San Antonio usually starts with three questions: where the house will sit, how the driveway will get there and what has to go. We help you answer them on the ground. Our crew clears the pad, removes trees and stumps from the footprint and leaves selected oaks for shade where you want them.
- House pad and yard clearing through our lot clearing service
- Driveway and access routes cut and graded to follow the slope
- Stump grinding and root removal so the builder starts on clean ground
- Haul-off of logs and debris with our loader and dump trailer
Before you clear, check with Pasco County about permits for building and any wetlands on the property. We can tell you what owners usually need to ask.
Big Trees on Tight In-Town Lots
Inside town, San Antonio's older lots are small compared to the farms outside it, and many are shaded by live oaks, laurel oaks and tall pines planted or left standing decades ago. When one of them starts dropping limbs or leaning toward a house, there is not much room to work. We use our bucket truck to climb above the hazard and lower wood in pieces, then clean up the yard.
If the tree has to come out, our tree removal service handles it from the first cut to the final stump grinding, so you can plant again or simply mow over the spot.

Dry Months, Wildfire and Storm Season
The country around San Antonio carries a lot of fuel: pine needles, palmetto and dead brush that dry out in spring before the summer rains arrive. Keeping a clear zone around your home and barn and breaking up continuous brush with firebreaks are practical steps every rural owner can take. Our fire risk reduction work is built for exactly that.
From June through November, the concern shifts to wind and lightning. Pines on high ground draw strikes, and saturated soil after long rains can let a big oak tip over in a strong gust. A walk-through before storm season helps you decide what to prune or remove.
