Living With Wind on the Lemon Bay Shore
When Hurricane Ian crossed Southwest Florida in 2022, Englewood saw snapped pines, uprooted oaks and stripped palms in nearly every neighborhood. Many owners are still dealing with trees that were damaged but never came down: split leaders, cracked limbs hung up in the canopy, and lean that has grown worse with each rainy season. Those trees are the ones most likely to fail in the next storm, so we check them first.
Our goal is to leave a property with fewer weak points. That can mean a full tree removal, structural pruning, or simply cutting out a hanging limb before it drops on a car.
Sabal palms usually ride out wind well, but queen palms and older pines do not. When we walk your yard we sort trees into three groups: keep as is, prune and monitor, or remove. You decide what to do with each one, with honest advice and no pressure.
Three Kinds of Englewood Properties We Work On
Manasota Key and the bayfront
Homes on the key and along the water deal with salt, sand and tight access. Bridges, narrow driveways and seawalls shape how we bring equipment in. Palms and sea grape are common, along with older live oaks set back from the shore.
Older streets off Dearborn Street and SR-776
The established neighborhoods near Old Englewood Village have mature oaks and pines planted close to homes. These jobs usually call for a bucket truck and careful lowering, followed by stump grinding to finish the yard.
Larger lots toward Placida Road and inland
Away from the water, lots get bigger and the woods get thicker with slash pine, palmetto and invasive Brazilian pepper. Brush clean up with our forestry mulcher reclaims overgrown back lots and opens room for a shed, garden or pool.

Hauling It All Away
Storm cleanup and big removals leave a lot of wood. Our wheel loader with log grapple picks up trunks and heavy limbs without dragging them across your lawn, and the dump trailer carries everything off. If you are sorting out debris left from a past storm, our debris removal service can clear it in one visit. We also prune palms and hardwoods ahead of hurricane season through our tree trimming service.
Because Englewood straddles two counties, the permit rules depend on where your property sits. Check with Sarasota County or Charlotte County before removing a tree, and we are glad to outline the common steps. We also serve Venice to the north and Port Charlotte to the east.
