Country Land Between I-75 and US-301
Most people know Bushnell from the SR-48 exit on I-75, the Florida National Cemetery just west of town, or Dade Battlefield Historic State Park. Off the highway, though, this is working rural land. Parcels of five, twenty or a hundred acres are common, and many have not been touched in years. Fence lines vanish under vines, cedar and laurel oak creep into pasture, and old field roads wash out or grow shut.
Those are the problems we solve most often here. We bring a skid steer fitted with a forestry mulcher, chainsaws for larger timber and a loader with a grapple to stack or remove logs. The result is open, usable ground without huge burn piles.
Services That Fit Bushnell Properties
- Land clearing for new homesites, barns, mobile home pads and garden plots.
- Forestry mulching to reclaim overgrown pasture edges and thin woods while leaving a protective layer of mulch on the soil.
- Access road construction and grading so trucks and trailers can reach the back of a long parcel.
- Tree removal for dead pines, storm-cracked oaks and trees leaning toward houses or power lines.
- Fire risk reduction to cut back palmetto and heavy brush around homes and outbuildings.

Dry Springs, Wet Summers
Sumter County swings between two seasons that both affect land work. From about February through May, dry weather and low humidity turn palmetto and pine straw into fuel, and brush fires in rural areas are a real concern. Clearing a defensible space around the house and barn before then is one of the best things a landowner can do. Once the summer rains arrive, low ground near the Withlacoochee River and around wetlands can stay soft for weeks, so we plan heavier machine work for firm conditions.
Wetlands, gopher tortoise burrows and certain trees may come with extra rules. Before clearing, check with Sumter County about permits. We are glad to walk you through what landowners are commonly asked for.
Getting a Free Estimate
Bushnell is an easy drive up I-75 from our Tampa base. We also cover Webster, Wildwood and the rest of Sumter County. On a first visit we drive or walk the property with you, flag the trees and fence lines you want kept, and talk about how the cleared ground will be used, whether that is grazing, a house or a hay barn. You get a written, no-cost estimate afterward. Reach us any day of the week, in English or Spanish, by phone or through our contact page.
